RENESAS ELECTRONICS ACHIEVES

RENESAS ELECTRONICS ACHIEVES LOWEST EMBEDDED SRAM POWER OF 13.7 NW/MBIT

Renesas Electronics Corporation announced the successful development of a new low-power SRAM circuit technology that achieves a record ultra-low power consumption of 13.7 nW/Mbitin standby mode. The prototype SRAM also achieves a high-speed readout time of 1.8 ns during active operation. Renesas Electronics applied its 65nm node silicon on thin buried oxide(SOTB) process to develop this record-creating SRAM prototype. This new low-power SRAM […]

Single Atom Transistor With Ultra low Power Consumption

Single Atom Transistor With Ultra-low Power Consumption

Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) researchers in Germany have developed a single-atom transistor that can reduce the power consumption of electronic systems significantly. The device is being developed by Professor Thomas Schimmel and his team at the Institute of Applied Physics (APH). The single-atom transistor switches electrical current by controlled repositioning of a single atom in a gel electrolyte. The

TritiLED

Description TritiLEDs are always-on battery powered LED glow lights for general night-time marking use. Radioactive gaseous tritium light sources (GTLSs) are allowed in the United States in several consumer product categories, including watches, compasses, and gun sights, but general-purpose markers are considered “frivolous” and are prohibited. Levaraging advances in LED efficiency, battery capacity, and microcontroller

Easy Planter

This project was inspired by a position i was trying to get in monitoring plants, and thought it would be enough to impress the employer to hire me 🙂 I have never been a particularly good gardener, mainly because of forgetting to water the plants, and not knowing if they were getting enough light. Electronics patent of the month: Illumination arrangement for roadside furniture

This month’s patent caught my eye for a number of reasons. First, it is a nice follow-on to my article last month, since the invention is surprisingly simple and superficially straightforward (but as I said then, as long as it’s new and inventive then it satisfies the requirements for patentability). This also makes the invention
